"Good morning everyone!" Ms.C says. "Today's share is if you could time travel, then would you go to the past or the future?" This echoes in Maya's mind. "I'm going to make the first Time Machine!" Maya says. She works day and night. After a lot of work, she finally did it, she made a Time Machine! She goes in and picks the time she wants to go to.
She arrives! She steps out and takes in everything around her. She had a mission! She traveled back in time, but why? Because she's trying to save her mom's favriote jewelry that broke during an earthquake years ago! She says it was passed down from generation to generation.
She checks the time. "1 minute till the earthquake happens! I have to hurry! To my moms room!" Maya whispers. She walks in, grabs the jewelry, and runs out of the room. But then something happens. The earthquake starts! Everything is shaking. Maya's mom said that the earthquake was very strong, and it injured thousands of people. But this was to important. So instead of going under a table, she runs towards the Time Machine.She falls! Crash! Smash! Things fall around her! She's so close to the Time Machine, but then, things fall all around her, trapping her!
But then she see's one more exit to get to the Time Machine, but something is about to fall right there and block her fully in! Maya decided, that she was going to risk it. She runs, knowing that if she stops, then she might never see her home again!
She leaps into the Time Machine, sets the time, and barley makes it back to the present! She made it! She ran towards her mom and showed her mom the piece of jewelry. Her mom asks, "How did you get it?" Maya responds "I time traveled to the day it got crushed, then I almost got crushed, but I made a leap of faith, and I made it back home with the jewelry." Her mom starts to cry. Her mom hugs her, and says, "The jewelry now belongs to you, as it's passed on from generation to generation." Maya hugs her mom, and puts the beautiful jewelry on.
