Sixteen-year-old Willow Zimmerman is tired of her run-down Gotham City neighborhood being ignored. When she is not on the streets protesting City Hall, she is working nights at the local dog shelter or struggling to care for her sick mother. Desperate for money to pay for her mother's critical medical treatments, Willow turns to an estranged family friend: the wealthy party promoter E. Nigma. Nigma offers Willow a lucrative job hosting private poker nights for Gotham's elite. Suddenly, she can afford the care her mother needs and gets a taste of a glamorous life she never imagined. But everything shatters when Willow and a loyal stray Great Dane named Lebowitz are brutally attacked by the monstrous Killer Croc. When Willow wakes up, she discovers she has developed incredible new powers and can actually understand Lebowitz. But her new abilities come with a dark realization about her benefactor. Uncovering that Nigma and his high-society friends are actually corrupt criminals, Willow faces an impossible choice. She must decide whether to stay loyal to the man who saved her family or use her newfound superhero abilities to protect her community.
