John Lewis

John Lewis was a towering figure of the American Civil Rights Movement and a longtime United States Congressman representing Georgia. As one of the "Big Six" leaders of the movement, he helped organize the historic 1963 March on Washington and led the first of three Selma to Montgomery marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Later in his life, he co-authored the National Book Award-winning graphic novel trilogy March and its sequel series, Run. Through these acclaimed memoirs, Lewis shared his lifelong dedication to justice, nonviolent resistance, and creating "good trouble" with readers around the world.
