Charles Knight

Charles Knight was a prominent 19th-century English publisher, editor, and author who dedicated his career to producing affordable literature for the general public. He is best known for his extensive historical and literary compilations, including The Popular History of England and Half-hours with the Best Authors. Through works like Shadows of the Old Booksellers and his biography of William Caxton, Knight also chronicled the rich history of the English printing and publishing trade.
