Samantha is absolutely terrified of dogs. Big dogs, small dogs, loud dogs, and jumpy dogs all make her extremely nervous. The last thing she ever wants is to be near one. There is just one huge problem. She recently moved to a new school and desperately wants to fit in with her new friends. Because they all belong to the dog-loving Woof Club, Samantha tells a tiny lie. She pretends that she loves dogs just as much as they do. To make matters worse, she even boasts that she is getting a brand new puppy very soon. Now she is trapped in her own story. Samantha has to decide if she should keep pretending to be a dog lover, or if she should finally tell her new friends the truth. She worries that if she comes clean, she might be kicked out of the club and lose her friends forever.
