Twelve-year-old Shang-Chi and his younger sister are the only children living inside the grand palace of the Five Weapons Society. Their father is a harsh master, and Shang-Chi wants nothing more than to prove himself worthy in his eyes. When Shang-Chi overhears that his father's powers might be fading, he knows he must act. He discovers an ancient scroll that could restore his father's strength and decides to do the unthinkable. For the very first time, Shang-Chi sneaks out of the palace walls and steps into the outside world. His mission is to find one of the legendary Peaches of Immortality. But the world outside is completely different from everything he has ever been taught. Along his journey, he meets a mysterious boy named Lu who seems to know far too much about Shang-Chi's family. With his home and his father's health on the line, Shang-Chi cannot afford to fail his quest. However, as he learns more about the truth, he must ask himself if his father truly deserves to be saved.
