My New Best Friend
Write Review
By Wendy Loggia
Kaia is absolutely thrilled when her aunt moves and gives her a four-year-old basset hound named Fred. She remembers playing with him when he was a tiny puppy and cannot wait for the fun to begin. But when Fred arrives, Kaia is in for a massive shock. Fred has grown into a very large, heavy dog. Unlike her friends' playful pets, Fred refuses to fetch, never rolls around, and certainly cannot fit into a small bag. Instead, he stares at Kaia with droopy eyes and barks as loudly as a foghorn. Kaia worries her exciting new life with a pet will be incredibly boring. She will have to discover if there is a special way to connect with Fred, or if her giant dog is hiding a few fun tricks up his paws.
