Christmas Eve is almost over, and Santa Claus has finally finished his long journey around the world. He has put his reindeer to bed and is ready for sleep. But when he looks in his giant sack, he gets a terrible shock. There is one present left at the very bottom. It belongs to a little boy named Harvey Slumfenburger, who lives far away on top of the Roly Poly Mountain. Santa knows that this is the only gift Harvey will get all year. Even though he is exhausted, Santa refuses to let Harvey down. He sets off into the freezing night completely alone. Santa will try absolutely anything to get there before morning. He hikes on foot, hitches a ride on an airplane, borrows a jeep, and even straps on a pair of skis.
