It is completely unfair when the adults in your life start breaking all the rules. Amber Brown feels like everything is spinning out of control and her parents are definitely not acting the way parents are supposed to act. Her dad keeps going out on dates during the weekends he is supposed to be spending quality time with her. Meanwhile, her mom went on an amazing trip to Disneyland with Aunt Pam while Amber was stuck at home. To make things even more complicated, her mom and her new boyfriend Max decide to move their wedding date up and buy a new house together. This means Amber might have to pack up and move to a completely new town. Watching other kids at school who seem to have perfectly normal, problem free lives makes Amber feel totally green with envy. She has to figure out how to process her difficult feelings and make some big decisions about her own happiness.
