Wiglaf is thrilled to finally be a Class II lad at the Dragon Slayers' Academy. He is no longer one of the youngest students, which means he is now responsible for showing the new kids the ropes. However, his excitement fades quickly when he meets his new charges.
First, Wiglaf has to deal with his wild and energetic little brother, Dudwin, who has just enrolled and is causing constant chaos. To make matters worse, Wiglaf's assigned Little Buddy turns out to be an overgrown, prank-loving troll. The troll makes Wiglaf's life miserable with endless jokes and dirty tricks.
When the troll swears there is a ferocious fire-breathing dragon hiding in the woods outside the school, Wiglaf does not know what to believe. He must decide whether to trust the prankster's warning or risk ignoring a very real threat to the academy.
