Emily is completely obsessed with dogs. She reads books about them, studies their breeds, and knows exactly how to take care of them. As her ninth birthday approaches, she has the absolute perfect present picked out: an adorable, wiggly, yellow Labrador puppy. Unfortunately, her parents are not quite as excited about the idea. They constantly remind Emily that owning a dog is a massive responsibility that requires a lot of hard work. They insist that she needs to be patient and wait until she is older. But Emily is entirely out of patience and feeling deeply disappointed. She knows she is ready for the challenge right now. Emily must find a creative way to prove to her strict parents that she is truly responsible enough to handle the daily chores of pet ownership, hoping she will finally get the furry best friend she has always dreamed of having.
