Erin Wright and her best friend Marty are totally obsessed with horror movies. Their absolute favorites are the famous Shocker on Shock Street films, which are filled with incredible creatures like Ape Face, the Mad Mangler, and the giant Toadinator. Because they are such huge fans, they win a chance to be the very first kids to test out the brand-new Shocker Studio Theme Park. They cannot wait to see all the amazing special effects and animatronics up close. But their dream tour quickly turns into a nightmare. First, their tour tram breaks down in the dark Cave of the Living Creeps. Then, a group of massive, terrifying praying mantises attacks them! The park is completely empty, and the special effects feel way too real. Erin and Marty must run for their lives and figure out if Shock Street is just a movie set, or if the monsters are actually alive.
