Ella is the star elephant of a traveling circus, but she has grown incredibly spiteful, spoiled, and conceited. Believing she deserves much better treatment than circus life provides, the proud elephant decides to run away to find an easier life. Her grand escape quickly turns into a nightmare when she falls into the hands of a cruel, demanding farmer. Forced into exhausting farm labor for a full year, Ella realizes the terrible mistake she made. When she finally hears the familiar whistle of the circus train in the distance, she must find a way to get back to the family she left behind.
