Things are going perfectly for Mordred, the notoriously greedy headmaster of the Dragon Slayers' Academy. New students are lining up to enroll, which means his pockets are filling up with gold. But his excellent mood vanishes when a terrifying headline appears in the local newspaper.
The dreaded Bad Luck Dragon, Snagglefahng, is on its way to the school, specifically seeking revenge on Friday the thirteenth. Panicking, Mordred orders every single student to hunt down as many good luck charms as they can find. The halls are soon filled with phony four-leaf clovers and rusty horseshoes.
Wiglaf and his friends know that silly superstitions will not stop a furious, fire-breathing beast. They must come up with a real plan to defend the academy and defeat Snagglefahng before their luck completely runs out.
