Katie Carew is tired of being ordinary, and she is especially tired of being picked on by the class bully. After a particularly terrible day in third grade, she looks up at a shooting star and makes a desperate wish. She wishes she could be absolutely anyone else but herself! To her total shock, the magic star listens. Suddenly, a strange wind blows, and Katie transforms into the fuzzy classroom hamster! At first, running on a wheel and escaping from a cage seems like a thrilling adventure. But she quickly realizes that being a tiny pet comes with its own terrifying problems. Katie discovers that her magical new ability will not stop, and she keeps switching places with the people and animals around her.
