Updated May 28, 2026
Week 1
Choose the library launch shape
- Create a Reading Program for the initiative or a managed reading group for a rostered class visit.
- Pick one theme: review crew, genre explorer, award books, Battle of the Books, or class visit rotation.
- Create one curated shelf so students have an easy first place to browse.
Week 2
Run class visits with a clean access path
- Use the student intro slides during each class visit.
- Print QR cards or share the program join link depending on the setup.
- Send the family handout or parent letter so families understand safety and access.
Week 3
Start a review crew
- Invite a small group of students to write short peer recommendations.
- Use the review rubric to keep feedback clear.
- Moderate and feature a few strong reviews on a display or shelf.
Week 4
Add a challenge or Battle path
- Create a reading challenge for shelf exploration, review crew, or Battle of the Books practice.
- Use prize notes only if rewards help participation.
- Keep instructions focused on reading, recommending, and discussing books.
Week 5
Make the work visible
- Build a QR display shelf for reviews, new arrivals, award books, or student picks.
- Share a short update with teachers and the principal.
- Use KRKB reports to spot participation and books that caught on.
Week 6
Close the loop and decide the next cycle
- Use the end-of-program report template.
- Collect one quote or story from a teacher, student, or family if appropriate.
- Decide what repeats: monthly shelf, review crew, Battle practice, or seasonal challenge.
