Data Deletion and Retention
How KRKB handles account deletion, parent requests, school or library requests, and limited retention for legal, safety, and operational reasons.
Updated May 28, 2026
Reader or family request
Linked parents can use Parent Portal tools to request deletion for a child account where supported.
Account settings
Users may request account deletion through profile settings where the product exposes that path.
School or library request
Organizations can contact KRKB about roster, program, or school/library plan data tied to their setup.
What deletion generally means
KRKB’s current legal pages describe account deletion as removing or deactivating profile information and interactive contributions from public access, while allowing limited retention where needed for legal, tax, fraud prevention, dispute, safety, enforcement, backup, or operational reasons.
Commonly removed or hidden
Public profile details, public visibility of contributions, linked reader display, and active account access where deletion is completed.
May be retained for limited reasons
Records needed for safety review, abuse prevention, legal obligations, billing, tax records, dispute resolution, backups, or system integrity.
Do not send sensitive data in email
When contacting KRKB, describe the request and organization, but avoid sending student passwords, private codes, or unnecessary sensitive details by email. KRKB may ask for a safer verification path before acting on a request.
